Dr. Xiali Sharon Hei has been elevated to the grade of Senior Member of IEEE this year.  Dr. Hei joined CMIX as an assistant professor in 2012. Her technical area is in cybersecurity, specifically in medical device security, cyber-physical system security, IoT device security, and biometrics security.  Dr. Hei's  Wireless Embedded Device Security Lab has demonstrated that the adversaries could control such systems as mini-robots, self-balanced transporters, infant incubator, and 3D-mouses through crafted physical signals injection that exploit mechanical coupling, optical injection, RF injection, and acoustic and ultrasonic injection.  Senior Member is the highest professional grade of IEEE for which a member may apply. It requires extensive experience, and reflects professional accomplishment and maturity. Only 10% of IEEE’s more than 400,000 members have achieved this level.  We are very proud to have Dr. Hei join the elite rank of IEEE Senior Members as a result of her professional achievements.
