Informatics is the bridge between technology and business. As an informatics student, you’ll learn how to use cutting-edge technologies and gain the management skills you need to get a high-paying job in businesses, health care, digital media, and more.

Our students are in high demand – about 90 percent of our students receive job offers before graduation and go on to have careers at GE Capital, CGI, Acadian Ambulance, Enquero, Schumacher Group, and more. In fact, there is so much demand for our students that the majority of Informatics majors are working in the field while they complete their degree. We also have internships, practical training for international students, and co-ops. Our students get to work with community organizations on a variety of information technology and information systems projects, like website design, database design, mobile application development, search engine optimization, and business process modeling.
At UL Lafayette, we combine the modern disciplines in one program with six possible concentrations, so you can incorporate business, health care, computer science, visual arts with an innovative perspective. UL Lafayette's School of Computing and Informatics offers the state's only Master of Science in Informatics. Our focus is on information technology and enterprise computing, so you're prepared to design and maintain systems that solve problems in a range of industries, from health care to entertainment to governmental work.
